Golden age

Have you ever imagined yourself when you reach the age of 60s, 70s, 80s? Hello senior citizen cast? Well, it came across my mind zillion times already and in all honesty it scares me. Not the aging part of course because everyone knows that mortal as we are, we get old, get grumpy, get sick and finally rest on our death bed until we seize our last breath. That if you’re lucky to purely die by old age. Now, what really concerns me in being a golden oldie is the elderly care I will be getting if I reach that peak or will I ever get that caring premium in any case. Somehow, it worries me that if I’ll be allowed enough to survive in my 60+ age, will I still have someone from my immediate family then to take care of me? Or will I just end up in nursing home services which something I don’t really consider. I’m a sweet family-homey person and if time comes I’m too aged to split and sissyficate, I would want my own family members to take care the old me in my own crib. Then again, it’s something that I hope the most or rather find a nursing home if left with no other options. Hayyy.. Life..

I’m posting this to share to everyone that prayer saves. Puleezz.. Don’t ever think I’m doing another Mother Teresa dramatic moment here. In fact, I’m even embarrassed to say that I’m not your typical hardcore Catholic. Ask me to enumerate the 10 commandments and boy I don’t know what comes next in order. But I’m not hypocrite enough to be godly yet wicked when outside God’s temple. He knows how I flunk my Sunday mass attendance however it’s a not reason for me not to pray and be thankful for everything. I know I have all the reasons not to hear the Sunday mass and I’m guilty. God forgive me on that.

Anyhow, yesterday was just an ordinary work off day for me and I thought of attending the Wednesday mass in Basilica del Sto. Niño around 5:30PM. It was also my niece’s 2nd year birthday and I thought of going to the church to say my blessings. I took a jeepney going there. It stopped when we came near to the church and I’ve decided to step out as well since it’s just a split away already. Traffic light is in red and 2 rows of vehicles in the right lane are in freeze mode. I did not notice the third row which was green in right arrow then. I started walking and the moment I stepped on the vacant row which I failed to mind the ‘go’ signal at that time, lo and behold of the loud long squeaking sound of a vehicle’s break on my backside. I turned back and saw that my right hip is 5 inches close to the jeepney’s bumper and I heard an earsplitting honk of its horn after. Boy! I almost got hit and run and I could have died right there and then or probably got injured. To my shock, I run fast to the side. People were staring at me and the driver even shouted: ‘Patyon ta kang bayota ka!’ I’ve got no rebuts and the thing that popped in my mind was ‘Thank you GOD for saving me…’ I don’t know what could have happened to me there but that very moment was a miracle. I mean, I was inches close to tragedy. I tried to compose myself while heading to the church and got teary-eyed the moment I got inside. You know how an emotional prick I am but it was really something. I felt it was a pure reminder for me to be mindful and that God listens to my daily prayer for His guidance and protection I’ve always ask. With that being said, I’m so blessed to be in my complete state still. Amen.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Today is one special day to all the mothers of the world. I’m a certified mama’s boy and have always been grateful to God for giving her the wellness she deserves despite her adding numbers.  With that being said, a HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all the mommies who showed what this planet really needs – a mother’s mad love! Yeah!

And to my mum, I LOVE YOU MA! Hugs and kisses from your fabulously cheap and chic son. voila v-shape!

For My Cousin

My little cousin just graduated from high school and now he’s here on vacation. The last time I remembered he was still a toddler. Although we haven’t seen each other for ages, I still kept in touch with his family through snail mails, emails, Friendster, Facebook and what have yous. I was really fond of this cousin of mine since he was so cute when he was a baby. And when I saw him in the airport, I really couldn’t see any trace of that cute little boy. What appeared before me was already a teenage boy with freckles all over his face. But still, we embraced and acted like we were still little kids. Do you know the first thing he asked me when I fetched him in the airport? He asked me for his graduation gift. I was dumbfounded since I really forgot about it. I never thought he would ask a graduation gift. Feeling generous at that time, I asked him what he wanted. He immediately grinned showing those perfectly shaped teeth. He said he’d like me to buy wow game time cards for him. I got confused by what he meant by that. He explained that it works like a prepaid card only that it’s called a 60 day game card which he can use for his World of Warcraft subscription. He even asked me if I can buy him the wrath cd key too. Well, since I haven’t really given him any presents in the past, I caved in. I checked their website and I thought that their prices are really not that bad. I’m now on the process of ordering his requests. I just hope he doesn’t ask me to buy him other stuff or my budget might get in trouble.

For Lifelock

It has been a long time since I last saw my best friend and we really had a blast when we finally met. I had the day planned ahead so that no time will be wasted. I’m actually a believer in ensuring that my time is spent wisely. As they say, time is gold. And with a lot of things happening, both on and off work, I really couldn’t find the time to see my old buddies. This explains why I got so ecstatic when I learned that my best friend was coming to town. I made sure we catch up on major stuff. We decided to watch Fast and Furious 4 that day. After the movie, we just went to my favorite coffee shop to catch up on things. That’s when she told me that she almost became a victim of the rampant identity thefts going. I was really devastated upon hearing this. I couldn’t imagine what I would have done if it happened to me. Luckily she enrolled in lifelock and even though she has forgotten about joining the company, she really found it useful when she least expected it. I was still dazed at what happened to my friend. She could have ruined her credit standing and lost everything if she didn’t protect herself. When I got home that night, I checked lifelock.com and checked out how the company works. Based on the lifelock reviews I have read, it shows that the company is great at combatting identity theft. I am now considering on enrolling with the LifeLock. It really pays to be careful and be extra cautious these days because we can never tell who’ll be the next victim of those identity thefts out there.

Kung Hei Fat Choi!

Ain’t no Chinese else Kung Hei Fat Choi to everyone! I’m a big astrology fan so when the Chinese yin-yang speaks on red color bringing much of a lucky charm, no way I’m gonna let it pass. You know how such a superstitious freak I am. Besides entitling myself with a little of Chinese culture won’t kill my roots. So I headed off to work this morning in a plain red polo shirt with hopes of sweet fortune store for me this year. It’s kinda silly how I seem to be excited with this Chinese New Year knowing I’m a full brown-skinned flip with no noodle trace in my blood. Toinks! Hehehe.. Now, here goes my 2009 predictions from truthstar.com:

“You will have lot of crucial decisions to take this year.  Anxieties may weigh you down in one form or other throughout the year.  Do not keep those anxieties bottled up inside you; discussing those with well-meaning loved ones will help you to look at things in the best perspective.  Though there seem to be many obstacles, your apt handling of those challenges can actually catapult you to higher positions and achievements.  If you master the art of being in peace at yourself, and display an unwavering faith in your inner convictions, nothing will stop you from marching ahead in life this year.”

Guess have to get over with my dramatis in life and get va-ba-boom all throughout the year! So there you have it..  Peace and Prosperity to all! Kung Hei Fat Choi! vi-a-v!

I miss highschool

I have not been updating my blog lately. I’m guilty I know! Obviously apart from my little dramatis in life I actually had my laptop rented for a fair service charge in two weeks time. Yep! Money in the making here! That’s how poor I’m getting that I had my baby for hire. We’re talking about business here so gotta grab it! LOL! I was initially a little fidgety about it when the offer knocked. I asked my friend and she said go and off I closed the deal. Besides where can I get that money in two weeks these days. Net cafes are always around if I need to do a little net hopping. Moreover, the person I’m entrusting my baby is my boardmate/techguy whom I rely much in computer stuff so I know it’s safe. I hope..

Just a couple of days ago I met my girlfriend for lunch and had a major gay talk. She’s my one of my closest highschool buddies and we’re both working in the same industry here in Cebu. She’s busy, so do I, but we decided to meet-up despite the hectic schedule since I insisted. Besides it was my work off-day so I was pretty confident of the time. I instantly noticed her gaining weight and girl she cursed me for that! Hahaha! She’s fat! I’m so-so! But I, being her gay friend, told her we’re both building fats in our system together to make it sound fair for her. Ya’know! A slight white lie does pacify. Hehehe.. We talked a lot of things. Updates from our personal work and our ‘zero’ love life once again. We backtracked to certain highshool moments which we had fun sharing. Good ol highschool drill days are over. From crazy classmates to boring classes to strict teachers even to our jinxed junior prom which by the way most of our ladies majorly hated since they had their prom dresses ready prior to the announcement. Honestly, I did not really bother much with the prom. I’m not a party pooper but it wasn’t just my thing then. Despite the fact that I’m limited to wearing any prom dresses given my fabulous gender, I was not the fully-bloomed fag I am now compared those dark closet-gay ages. Ha! Sadly, no senior prom took place as well. I just realize it was a ‘miss’ for us. Prom is one of the highschool highlights and too bad we never had the chance to experience it. Awwww…

The talk was a blast though it was just in a short moment. Damn! I miss a lot of things from the time I started getting serious with my life. Hahaha! I miss highschool and given the chance to turn back those days I’m really gonna have a selection of Cinderella or Belle-inpired prom dresses and surething I’ll be the Prom Queen of the Night.. Hahaha! Ya right! vi-a-v!

Day before payday

Booo! Look at those eyeballs! Bold and lean circles noh! LOL! It’s the day before payday and times like this makes me feel horribly poor. Seriously, I only have like 150 pesos ($3) in my coin purse now which is good for one day consumption only (fare/meal/meal). This is an indication that I should stay inside my crib to avoid unnecessary trifling buys that just gives me the surprise of money drought afterwards. I’m almost broke so I’m just stuck net galoring in my claustrophobic room for the meantime. Huhuhu!

By the way friends, we visited the Church of Mama Mary in Simala here in Cebu yesterday. (I know what you’re thingking.. Of course I do visit those places noh..) Anyhoo, It’s been considered one of the miraculous pilgrim places for thousands of Filipino Catholic devotees. Word is that a number of devotees who visited the shrine had been granted petitions. It’s my first time to be there and I honestly wanna go back probably in a weekday to avoid congestion and long lines though it’s part of what we called sacrifice.  It’s one of my holiest days ever.. That’s all for now my chicaritos! Happy Sunday everyone! vi-a-v!
