Attention girls, ladies, women, and the transladies out there! This is such good news for all of us. The year of the Rat is close to ending and year 2009 is just so near I can already sense a new beginning on various things to look forward to. And part of it is looking for the right dress to wear on special occasions for the entire year-round seasons. Hilarity check there but come to think of this, most of the time ladies and wannabes alike find it pretty hard to check on beautiful and elegant pieces that can be put on to a party carrying the pure intention to impress. Let’s face it! It’s an obvious fact to the majority of the Eves out there. As much as we wanted to wear an elegant designer gown but heck we’re not financially filthy to suffice it, we look for an alternative way to stylishly dress that won’t hurt our budget big time. And here comes the power of the internet.

Let’s start the count. What are the most special events awaiting for us this upcoming year 2009 apart from our birthdays, Christmas, legal holidays (? - hahaha), etc. Well, if you’re mutually engaged with someone at this point in time then it’s a sign to set the wedding bells next year while the love is still hot and the excitement to wear wedding dresses is still in ooze.  For junior high like me (char!), the Prom Night is the most sought after event in the school year. Everyone can’t wait who the Prom Queen of the Night will be. *wink*

And since we have talked about special occasions and events and dresses in full combo let us now take a peek to Mori Lee’s wide collections of lovely wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and not to mention my coveted prom dresses. If you have not heard of Mori Lee, it is about time you visit www.morilee.com to check what I’m blabbing here. For more than fifty years, Mori Lee has been dressing women for their most special occasions and these includes wedding days and prom nights for high school girls. If you navigate through their website you will definitely see various collections of stylish and elegant pieces which are definite to fit your personal style. It’s nice to see Mori Lee takes into account the individuality of each woman to dress. Very feminine. And below my dear friends is one of the perfect sweet collections I love in Mori Lee’s site.

It’s a tube ball gown bejeweled in Bordon decoration at the diaphragm which makes it a sight to see. I love blue but I prefer the yellow one. Both are stunningly simple yet beautiful. I can see myself as the Prom Queen if I don this lovely dress. No doubt noh?.. Hehehe! Anyhow, you have to watch out Mori Lee’s prom dresses 2009 collection varying from the Vizcaya to the Paparazzi Prom range. Hues and designs are so stylish. Something you will never go wrong to wear and will absolutely make a fashion statement to impress. So make those precious moments more memorable in Mori Lee’s perfect dresses.

Finally! The first season of Project Runway Philippines ended with a boom showcasing the final 3’s collection at the Philippine Fashion Week 2008. Aries Lagat ruled the runway with his ‘More Than A Woman’ themed collection followed by Philipp Tampus’ intricate crochet-glam dresses and Veejay Floresca’s monochromatic modern chic outfits. Below are the finalists’ fashion collection for PRP finale! Watch it!

Personally, I’d go for Veejay’s collection in terms of wearability. It’s RTW which something you can slip in anytime. However, it didn’t have the ‘wow’ effect for the competition in terms of design but worth the modern chic take in overall. Philipp’s pieces were so feminine. You can see how intricate the crochet details were which indeed celebrates feminity. And Aries’s? Well, an obvious showcase of great talent! Intergalactic inspired pieces. I love how Aries completed the idea for his collection. The materials and technique used were just so impressive. Very innovative and creative. He obviously deserved the win! Hope to see more of Philippine’s finest in next season of PR. Congrats guys!

Okey everyone! Get yourself ready for this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show! I know girls, guys and gays alike are so excited for this year’s glamorous display of lingerie and skin from the VS Angels. Hotness! And boys! This is gonna be your serious wet dream for realz! *wink* Ladies/gays, we share same dream of being a VS Angel so let’s keep the hope coz miracles do happen when we least expect it. Hahaha! Now, take a peek at the following photos via fashionising.com of Doetzen Krous, Miranda Kerr, Marissa Miller and Heidi Klum doing the fittings.

Sexy! This is gonna be major and the first time where the fashion event will be held in Miami, Florida from the legendary Fontainebleau Miami Beach. Fabulous models on their over-the-top wings will take centerstage once again at the best bra-and-panty show of the year! I’m so excited I know! Show will be aired on CBS Dec. 3, 2008 so set your calendar to this date, wookie?.. vi-a-v!

Fashion inspiration?

Here’s something from the Paris Fashion Week. Lanvin’s Spring 2008 RTW dress and Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 RTW. Something in common noh? But both are no doubt stunning! I kinda just wonder where MJ got the idea of the moss green frock on ostrich feathers for his LV S09 collection since there’s this sense of resemblance of design from that of Mr. Elbaz’s Lanvin Spring 08 RTW. Just kidding! Somehow it made me think that fashion is a reinvention of design for the celebration of beauty! Agree? vi-a-v!

The Headache Pose!

How do you get the supermodel look when your head aches yet you still wanna keep your mouth half-open for such a gay reason and all of the sudden someone asked you to make an improptu pose infront of a camera while strutting your way to Mcdonalds at The Walk in a not so sunny day?

Check this out! *snap snap*

You think I owned it?! I know right! Beat that! Hahaha! voila v-shape! ;-)

Woah! Naomi Campbell and Chanel Iman in a duet catwalk rampage? I love it! When I initially saw this photo in stylefrizz.com, I was utterly speechless. We know from a fact how wicked Naomi girl is and seeing her with a fellow black model striding the same way on that ramp is simply an incredible sight. I don’t know with you but for me it really is! And I know I’m overreacting here so spare me with your crude reactions and keep it to yourself for now! I just can’t waive such feeling ever since I regarded Naomi C. as a prima donna runway queen who is excessively self-conceited. Does that even makes sense?.. Anyway, this is a photo from Fashion for Relief 2009 show in which Naomi had helped and joined since 2005 to raise funds for various charity causes. Despite her random public misbehaviour, it’s philanthropic of her to actively participate this type of foundation. Define benevolence noh! I kinda think too that with all these charities popping-up like mushrooms, why won’t we bloggers unite and organize something like move-for-a-cause. How’s that? Think it over blogistas and count my sweet face in if it happens.. Ping! Ping! Ping! So who’s who for you? Naomi C. or Chanel I.? Or they’re both stunningly hot to the nth power raise to positive 10 in that Azzedine Allaia’s dress?! Take your pick now.. Meh?… You know how I love every supermodels of this planet! So obvious.. vi-a-v!

Sparkle in your eyes

Let’s talk about lenses, shall we?.. As a person with bad eyesight at an early age  of 17, wearing eyeglasses has been the most common way for me to alternatively get a clearer view of all my papito cholo prospects out there.. But using clear contacts is considerably a better option for me to look natural without giving hints to people how I struggle recognizing things at far.. Now, how would you feel, my dear reader about putting on a pair of contact lenses studded with Swarovski crystals?..

Everyone!

Behold the creation of Anthony Mailler who won the 2nd prize in ‘Crystal Vision’ competition co-organized by designboom and Swarovski.

Sparkling and glittering that is! So what do you think?.. Will you ever go for this bling-bling on your eyeballs? I personally think it’s cute.. That’s all.. vi-a-v!

Neon high time

www.toywatchusa.com

Aren’t they so cute?.. I know! Having those bright candy colored wristwatches can definitely make you look yummier. Yellow, pink, blue, green and orange and voila v! Hotter than ever! Nice to know that rainbow color trend is still moving up to these days and wearing one is like going back to the trend of 80’s striking hues. Amazing noh! I’d love to have one of those Toy Watch Neon Chronograph Plasteramics above and I’ll go for yellow submarine and atomic orange and everything that I can snag! Ha! I wish! LOL! The collection is just so sweet noh! Playing matchy-matchy with the variation of colors and have a lot of fun.. Hmmm.. So what’s your pick?.. And mind you my dear it’s 250 jaw-dropping dollars so beware. You don’t wanna starve in vain for weeks after the grab, do you? Hehehe.. I guess we need to sweat more for cold cash then and say goodbye to high time neons for now. vi-a-v! But I’m thinking of investing on that! Big Joke! Hihihi..

I just got a fresh copy of Preview magazine September 2008 issue and I’m honestly not so happy seeing Bea Alonzo on the cover again.. Not that I’m being an anti-Bea here (i do adore her beauty fyi) but seriously, seeing her a number of times on the front gloss of Preview and the rest of our local fashion mags is visually tiring.. Maybe I’m just too insecure to admit that she’s uberly gorgeous than I am and that I’ve always dreamed of taking her spot.. LOL! But haven’t you guys notice that almost every local fashion magazine masks the common faces of our showbiz ladies. Name it: the big guns in Dos and Siete.. They always seem to grace on their covers and define cliché, repeat, or whatever you call it.. Please don’t shoot me with this.. In my opinion, it would be refreshing sometimes to feature local supermodels like Ana Sideco or Ria Bolivar or the ever sophisticated Divine Lee and do glimpse of their private career lives in full circle within those mags, noh? Or probably yours truly Bena gay weerking it in pure queerness on their editorials.. Why not model.com?! LOL! Enough choo-cha-chika and just log on to stylebible.ph. It’s the new online ‘it’ thing for the hardcore and wannabe fashionistas alike.. Hihihi! Yebah! vi-a-v! (photo: stylebible.ph)

Attention Noypis! We have another reason to celebrate and be proud of our roots again! Yep, you read that right! If you guys don’t know this yet, our very own US-based Pinay Joanne Cordero Reyes is making big name in the land  of Hollywood as a fashion designer under her own label Vicente Villarin. Say hello to Monique Lhuiller now! And take note! nymag.com considered her as one of the fresh designers to watch for this season. How’s that! Mabuhay noh!
