Oh vey! The month of the King and Queen of the Hearts is already over. We know how high school ladies got so mega excited with the prom night event then. I admit to be old enough in bothering prom occasions but nothing beats the glam and glare of all the prom dresses you get to see for the night. Sadly for me, I never experienced any prom events due our delinquencies back in highschool. Such a big miss for most of us but worth our misdemeanor. Crazy highschool days you know.. LOL
Moving along, I think it’s absolutely overwhelming to anticipate and prepare for the big day itself. Much more in selecting the best of the dresses you can slip on to make such a statement. Ball gowns, body hugging pieces, short prom dresses, etc. Getting the most out of this special occasion can be one heck of a workload. For some, they seek some advice that may guide them through certain pricing and fashioning side of what should be and not be for the event. Well obviously, we dress to impress making sure to complete the details for the overall look. Think combining fine accessories on top of our best outfit. After all, prom dresses are made for elegance and to flatter. But that does not mean it is low cheap in price. However, if you set goal for an affordable piece make sure not to compromise the design to get the wonderful look and feel all throughout the occasion.

Attention women of all ages and sizes! If you’re into pieces that are trendy and stylish to wear yet do not scream as if you have taken up a career in prostitution, think modest clothing for women. I know it sounds so naive but hey, I know ladies out there who are fashionable without looking so tight, low-cut and revealing. Though I have friends who favor showing a little bit of skin but I myself is not a major fan of sleeveless or anything that looks almost-run-out-of-clothe pieces. Then again fashion is fashion and anyone can put on anything they want to dress just to impress. On the other hand, I admire seeing women who dress powerful in their suits and looks sophisticated. Imagine the executive wear as the power look. Definitely a statement. As for me, I’ll stick with my regular tees and skinny jeans which I’m comfortable with. That’s all and vi-a-v!
Never I imagined myself being employed in the construction industry doing bricklaying, plumbing, woodworking and the list continues. It’s not what you think it is but me being this cheap-chic gay I am right now would probably not consider the idea of carrying heavy loads of cement neither drilling holes in steel bars with those transformer-like construction machines. It’s beyond unimaginable for me really. I’m afraid, I don’t want to end up Popeye-looking or any muscle men you have in mind.
Meanwhile, out of curiosity, I drool over the internet last night to check footwear usually worn by construction men. And behold I found these work boots which they call Wolverine Boots.
The name got me chuckling but these pairs are pretty trendy and fashionable compare to the usual work boots I know. Definitely stylish for a construction worker noh. Well, being these pairs used in a men-at-work site does not necessarily indicate that you can only wear them to such place. Think fashion with these boots noh! Winner! vi-a-v!

In any case you have no idea who this fine-looking girl is, well, she’s Ms. Charo Ronquillo. A pure blooded Pinay who graced 3rd place in 2006 Supermodel World Finals in New York City grabbing a whopping $100,000 contract with Ford Models. Now that’s our girl! I don’t know with you but her 1×1 pic (from Ellie Tahari Fall 2009 RTW) on the frontpage of the ultimate fashion online bible (hello!) is for me a huge deal. I mean, who among the hundreds of models out there, particularly Asians, are chanced even just a tiny spot in style.com. You tell me. I guess I’m kinda overreacting here but seeing a fellow Mabuhay girl in an international fashion scene is pure bliss for me. So what!
It’s been ages since I’ve seen a Pinay on the fashion catwalk of NYC. I just wish more! Hope to see Charo walk extra fashion shows or belt on ad campaigns for her portfolio.
